ATTILIO GIUSTI LEOMBRUNI: Feminine creativity.

Attilio Giusti Leombruni. A name. A brand. A reality ‘Made in Italy’. A passion that connects three generations. First the grandfather Piero, then the father Attilio, and now the generation of Sara, Vera and Marianna: three sisters with a common future. Different responsibilities but one sole aim: to follow the path successfully embarked upon in 1958 - that is, to create simple yet sophisticated shoes; modern classics which convey a quality of authenticity.

ATTILIO GIUSTI LEOMBRUNI creates collections appreciated all over the world by authentic and dynamic people who are intrigued by the deliberately minimal and rarefied style of the shoes.

A timeless style where the boundaries between masculine and feminine begin to merge, an essential quality of creativity and refinement reflecting a rediscovered understatement inspired by the bon ton of the 1950s.

The shoes are the expression of a totally unique art and over the years the firm has specialized in advanced technology guaranteeing products so comfortable that one has the sensation of wearing shoes that fit like gloves.

The design favours basic forms, clear lines and precise models. Fashion accessories that become part of one’s life, perfect extensions of one’s self. Expressions of an “arte-couture” for a new concept of luxury. A concept which is being constantly redefined and which nowadays signifies originality and, above all, expresses one’s own personality.

ATTILIO GIUSTI LEOMBRUNI’S PASSION IS AN INHERITED GENE WHICH HAS BEEN GUIDING THE FIRM FOR MORE THAN 50 YEARS. TODAY MORE THAN EVER, THIS PASSION STIMULATES RESEARCH AND INNOVATION, THE AIM OF WHICH IS TO EXPORT THE FIRM’S “MADE IN ITALY DOC” ALL OVER THE WORLD.

Since 2009 ATTILIO GIUSTI LEOMBRUNI has been expanding its artistic boundaries with two parallel projects. For the WOMEN’S collection the firm is working together with emerging artists in the field of visual art and graphic design without, however, abandoning its retro style.

For the MEN’S collection the firm has created a unique collaboration. Fashion and writing, poetry and images: the famous writer Ettore Mo has taken photographs of ATTILIO GIUSTI LEOMBRUNI’s shoes which he took along with hIm while travelling on the River Volga.

MARIANNA GIUSTI

Creative Director, ATTILIO GIUSTI LEOMBRUNI

My CV can be summed up in one line: footwear designer for Attilio Giusti Leombruni, from when I could first hold a pencil in my hand.

My school books were literally full of drawings of shoes ... truly bizarre for a young girl.

I watch my father draw. I loved his design studio, full of sketches, colours, ribbons, fabrics and hides, the scent and feel of which I came to love.

Incredible on-site training, combined with an innate desire to create.

During my adolescence, while still in high school, my father took some of my sketches, created prototypes from them and included these among the samples in his collection: that was the day on which I became a designer..

After high school I went to Germany: needing to figure out if I had chosen shoes, or whether the world into which I had been born had chosen them for me, I found myself working in a shoe shop.

Once back in Italy my future path was clear. I now consciously began to work at that which came most naturally to me: devoting myself to the creation of footwear collections.

I attended CERCAL in San Mauro Pascoli, where I was taught by Giuseppe Zanotti and fell madly in love with his styling methods.

In 2004 I won the 'SHOP STYLE' POWERED BY KRONOS competition.

For the next three years I worked in a local design office, where we created designs for the Miss Rossi and Baldinini Trend collections. And finally in 2005 I joined the company.

By then the brand image was fairly established, so making my mark without oversetting this was a challenge, but a great one! And with time I succeeded in making the ATTILIO GIUSTI LEOMBRUNI look more feminine and minimal .. . just the way I like it!

Creativity is essential, but much of the lifeblood of my collections comes from clients. I know many of them personally, and we enjoy a long-term relationship based on trust. Thanks to this I obtain enormously valuable customer feedback. Without this, I would still design beautiful shoes, but they would be lifeless. Our collections are successful because we meet our customers’ needs.

I must mention the two people who I see as my teachers, both of whom played an essential part in my education and training: my father, who gave me the opportunity to turn my passion into a career and who, since 2009, has allowed me to design what used to be HIS collection; and Guillaume Hinfray, with whom I collaborated for several years at the beginning of my adventure in this company and who I believe to be one of the most creative shoe designers around today.
