Awake NY is a New York City-based streetwear label produced by former Supreme brand manager Angelo Baque. Baque worked at Supreme for ten years and was instrumental in catapulting Supreme to the dizzying heights it currently occupies. Awake NY is part of Baque Creative, an agency the New Yorker founded in 2012. Distribution is very limited, with only a handful of retailers worldwide, including HIP. Baque's label captures the vibrant spirit and energy that makes NYC unique with vibrant graphics, classic 90's styling, and streetwear staples in every collection like hoodies, tees, and hats.

Angelo Baque's Awake NY has been active on the collaboration front throughout 2021, and one of the partners that seem to pop up most frequently is ASICS. Together, the two launched an ASICS GEL-KAYANO 14 and introduced Angelo Baque as the head of the Japanese sportswear brand's "The ASICS Collective" collaboration initiative.

In light of the tragic passing of cultural icon Virgil Abloh, proceeds from the release will benefit the late designer's Virgil Abloh "Post-Modern" Scholarship Fund and Angiosarcoma Awareness, Inc. an organization focused on angiosarcoma research and awareness. This scholarship fund aims to provide opportunities for black creatives.

Awake NY continued its recent collaboration with ASICS by working with artist Sam Friedman for a new colorful capsule. The six-piece release marks the second collaboration between Awake NY and Friedman, with the artist contributing a silk shirt and five-panel cap to the label's Spring 2020 collection.

In short, Awake NY captures the unique cultural spirit and sensibility of New York City. Awake NY reflects the diversity that has defined the city's cultural landscape. Both classic and contemporary, Awake NY evokes both the changing aesthetic dynamism and timelessness of New York. Solo or in collaboration with other brands and designers.
